Kevin Trudeau’s HCG Diet – Phase 2
This is the exact Dr. Simeons “weight loss cure protocol” as used by hundreds of thousands of patients around the world over the last thirty years with spectacular permanent results. The entire manuscript that describes this protocol entitled Pounds and Inches: A New Approach to Obesity, by Dr. A.T.W. Simeons, M.D., is available for you to read in its entirety here.
THIS PHASE MUST BE DONE UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF A LICENSED HEALTH CARE PRACTITIONER!
Day One:
• Take an injection of between 125-200 units of hCG (human chorionic gonadotrophin) first thing in the morning.
• Drink one-half to one gallon of water throughout the day, ideally with coral calcium sachets.
• Gorge yourself and eat as much food as you can throughout the day.
• Do any of the items from Phase 1 as you choose.
Day Two:
• Repeat Day One.
Day Three:
• Weigh yourself immediately upon arising, after emptying the bladder, without clothes.
• Take an injection of between 125-200 units of hCG (human chorionic gonadotrophin) first thing in the morning.
• Drink one-half to one gallon of water throughout the day, ideally with coral calcium sachets.
• For breakfast have only:
— black coffee (organic preferred), or
— organic green tea, or
— organic Yerba Mate tea, or
— organic Wu Long tea, or
— organic chamomile tea.
— You may have as much as you desire.
• Throughout the morning drink as much organic green tea, organic Yerba Mate tea, organic Wu Long tea, and/or organic chamomile tea, and water as you desire. Always make your tea with pure water, never tap water.
• For lunch eat 100 grams (weighed raw) of grilled (no oil or fat):
— organic grass fed beef or veal, or
— organic chicken breast (skinless), or
— wild Chilean sea bass, or
— flounder, or
— sole, or
— halibut
• One large handful of one of the following organic vegetables:
— Spinach
— Chard
— Beet greens
— Lettuces of any kind
— Tomatoes
— Celery
— Fennel
— White, yellow, or red onions
— Red radishes
— Cucumbers
— Asparagus, or
— Cabbage
These can be eaten raw, steamed, grilled (without oil), or gently boiled. Do mix vegetables in the same meal.
• One small organic apple, or small organic grapefruit, or a handful of organic strawberries.
• You may season any of the food with the juice of half an organic lemon, white or black pepper, organic raw apple cider vinegar, sea salt, organic garlic, organic basil, organic parsley, organic thyme, organic marjoram, or any other organic herb. Absolutely no oil, butter, dressings, or anything else!
• Dinner:
— The same choices as for lunch. Do not, however, have two meals exactly the same in the same day.
• Black coffee, organic green tea, Wu Long tea, organic Yerba Mate tea, and organic chamomile tea can be consumed in any quantity as often as you wish throughout the day. You should drink at least one cup Wu Long, one cup Yerba Mate tea, and one cup chamomile tea each day.
• No medicines or over-the-counter non-prescription drugs should be taken. (Done under supervision of a physician.)
• No cosmetics other than lipstick, eyebrow pencil, and facial powder should be used.
• No creams, lotions, or moisturizers, or anything should be put on the skin.
• You must eat everything as described. Do not skip meals, and each meal must consist of the protein, the vegetables, and the fruit.
• You may eat the fruit in between meals instead of with the meal if you choose.
It is encouraged, but not required, that you do the following activities:
• Drink Eleotin tea three times per day, as the instructions suggest.
• Walk for one hour per day.
• Listen to stress reducing CDs daily.
• Use a rebounder as often as possible.
• Do yoga as often as possible.
• Sweat for twenty minutes in an infrared or regular sauna as often as possible.
• Get colonies as often as recommended by a licensed colon therapist.
• Get twenty minutes of sun daily as often as possible.
• Wear a Q-Link or E-Pendant, and use a Biopro chip on your cellular phone.
• Reduce exposure to air conditioning.
• Do not drink very cold beverages.
• Get one to three Thai massages a week. Thai massages are administered without lotions. You will be fully clothed and the massage consists of a series of assisted stretches. Do not take regular massages where lotions and creams are applied to your skin.
Day Four Through Day Forty-Five:
Follow the Day Three instructions every day for the entire course of treatment. In order to achieve permanent results you must continue the treatment exactly as described for a minimum of twenty-one days and a maximum of forty-five days.
Starting Treatment: Women should start the treatment immediately after their menses, or at least ten days before their next menses. During menstruation no injections are to be taken, but the diet is continued exactly as described. Injections are resumed immediately following the menses.
Duration: This phase must last for a minimum of twenty-one days, and a maximum of forty-five days. If you need to lose more weight after the forty-five days of treatment have been completed, you take six weeks off, eating normally with the exception of no sugar and no starch. You then resume Phase 2 for up to six weeks. If at that point you still need to lose more weight, you must take eight weeks off, eating normally with the exception of no sugar and no starch, and then resume Phase 2.
The Simeons “weight loss cure protocol,” as you can see, consists of a daily injection of hCG, combined with a very strict and specific food consumption plan. The specific foods used cause chemical reactions in the body, combined with the hCG to activate the hypothalamus into releasing the secure abnormal fat reserves causing dramatic weight loss without the loss of muscle or structural fat. The amount of food consumed is approximately 500 calories. The reason for the very low caloric intake is that the body will only release the abnormal fat reserves after it has burned the consumed calories. Interestingly enough, eating lower amounts of calories do not speed up the process. Eating smaller quantities of food actually stop the fat releasing mechanism. Dr. Simeons discovered that by changing the food, the fat releasing process is also slowed or stopped. For example, when Simeons added mushrooms or artichokes, even though they had the same or less amounts of calories, the fat releasing was slowed or stopped completely. This is due to unique chemical compositions in the food.
It is of the utmost importance for this protocol to work, you must strictly follow the exact procedures to the letter.
The Last Injection Day Injection: On the day you receive the last hCG injection you must follow the diet program exactly. For the next two days you also must follow the diet exactly. This is because your body is flooded with hCG and it should take two days for it to leave the body.
During the entire Phase 2 you should weigh yourself every morning at approximately the same time. Keep a daily record of your weight. You should also take front, side, and rear photos of your stripped down body on the day you start Phase 2. Take measurements of the thighs, calves, hips, waist, chest, back, and arms. Upon completion of Phase 2 take another series of photos and measurements. The weight and inch loss will be absolutely astounding The before and after pictures combined with the weight and inch loss are a vital key to motivating you to continue with Phase 3 and Phase 4. This will also start reprogramming your mind with the belief and mental image of the body you desire. This is a very important component as it will counteract the programming we have self-imposed, as well as the food company advertising brainwashing we have endured over the years.
During this phase you should lose approximately one pound per day. This will vary from day-to-day. Hunger will vary for each individual. Hunger pangs will last no more than five to seven days. The majority of people have no hunger pangs at all, even from the first day, or have mild hunger pains that last only one to three days. The more you did in Phase 1, in many cases, determines how long the hunger pains last. If you have severe Candida overgrowth, a clogged colon, or have taken large amounts of non-prescription and prescription drugs over the years, your hunger pains may initially be higher and duration slightly longer. The vast majority of patients, however, state that hunger pains are very mild or nonexistent. The major feeling that people deal with in the first few days of Phase 2 is a feeling of emptiness in their stomachs. This is quite different than hunger pains. Weighing yourself daily and seeing the spectacular results will keep your motivation high, allowing you to overcome any short-term hunger.
You may have many questions regarding this phase. You may read Dr. Simeons manuscript Pounds and Inches: A New Approach to Obesity here. In the question and answer section of this book I address the most common concerns. At the end of the book I also give you additional references for your review, as well as the names, addresses, and websites of clinics that are currently administering this “weight loss cure protocol.”
The most common question asked is that if a person just did this low calorie diet without the hCG injections, wouldn’t they still lose weight? Every legitimate double-blind study shows that when people eat this diet without the hCG injections they do, in fact, lose weight. However, they do not lose the problem area secure fat deposits. Their body is not reshaped. They lose muscle and structural fat. They have massive hunger and fatigue. When they stop the diet they immediately gain all the weight back, plus more! Those who do the diet with the hCG injections lost more weight than the other group, had no hunger or fatigue, and lost fat in the problem areas. Their bodies were completely reshaped. They did not lose structural fat and muscle. Most importantly, when they stopped the diet and hCG injections, they did not gain the weight back! Although there are critics and so-called experts that continue to debunk and discredit Simeons’ “weight loss cure protocol,” the hundreds of thousands of patients achieving these results, combined with the massive amounts of scientific documentation, double-blind studies, clinical studies and observations, are proof beyond a doubt that this is in fact the ultimate cure for obesity. This method has passed the test of time.
Once you have completed one or more six-week rounds of Phase 2 and have lost the weight and reshaped your body to your personal satisfaction, then it is time to go on to Phase 3.

I am on day 9 of the diet. I did not gorge as I should have on day 1 and 2. i am experiencing horrific hunger pains, weakness, and sweating. I feel at times I could pass out. What is happening? What can I do to avoid this? I am eating all the foods and drinking tea and water. Is this a drop in sugar levels and if so what should I do?
by cammie, on April 23 2009 @ 12:11 pm
stick with it. the pain will go away. just be patient i am on day 13 and feel no hunger at all. However, those first few day were awful.

Did anyone else gain weight with the gorge days? I started the hcg yesterday and I have gained 3lbs.
by Sarah, on May 16 2009 @ 6:10 pm
I have been on this diet for 6 days now. I gained 3 pounds the first day and 1/2 a pound the second gorge day! Then after my first 500 calorie diet day I lost 3 1/2 pounds since then I've lost 5 1/2 pounds with one day of NOT losing anything….. Total weight loss 9 lbs!!! Tomorrow will be a week! This diet is not for quitters….Be strong! You can do it!
by trista, on May 17 2009 @ 4:46 am
i have been on this diet for a week. excluding the fact that it made me start my period after not having one for two months i started two days after the injections started. but all together i have lost 7.4 lbs after i weighed this morning. and that is with a day of not losing because i had a major chocolate attack and couldnt resist. But i am hanging in there and am finding it easier and easier as time goes.
by Chris Copeland, on May 21 2009 @ 7:31 am
Started on 5/9 at 253 lbs and am currently down to 239 lbs. That includes one night of totally breaking the diet and gaining 3 lbs because of it.
So stick with it and avoid messups.
Also I crave food, but am not hungry. Its supposedly the hCG, but really the meals dont seem small…

My husband and I both have been on the diet for over 4 months and have had good results BUT.. he has recently developed a heart flutter and was hospitalized for 5 days. The Dr's thought he possible through a clot in his leg too and has had some complications. They seemed concern when they found out he was taking hcg and said blood clots are common with female hormones. Anyone else had any problems or concerns…lots of times Dr's don't like natural drugs so I take things they say with a grain of salt. Still…. I cked it out b4 we started the diet and really couldn't find anything that indicated clotting or any really bad side effects. Has anyone else???????

I started the hcg diet on June 15th, and was so hungry that I stopped it, and gave up. I have started back up again on July 3rd, and am doing better with the hunger. How long can I continue with the diet, and the hcg still work inside my body? Should I do the 1 day per week of skipping the shot, so my body doesn't become immune? I will be doing the shots for 30 days. Thank you.

I am on day 6 I weighed in at 257lbs. I gorged for the first 2 days and ate tell I eat no more. On the 3rd day I started the 500cal diet and to my suprise the meals are not small at all. on the fifth day I was down to 246lbs. I went to dinner with my husband and could not resist I weighed in this morning and had gained 3lbs. So you will gain if you break the diet its not worth it stick with it and you will lose the weight. I am going to continue but will never break the diet again.

Just started four days ago. I gorged for the first two days and I've lost five pounds so far…! I was 215lbs. and had a hard time with late night eating with my wife. Since we are both on the HCG diet together we're holding each other acountable. I wish I found out about this a few years ago.
by Michelle, on July 23 2009 @ 11:07 am
Hello everyone, I am so thrilled to report I am at 244lbs. The fat just seems to be melting away. So Far every morning I have lost a pound. When I broke the diet and gained 3lbs I did the steak and apple diet the same day I gained the 3 lbs and the next day I was back down to 246,like the day I broke the diet. I feel great and would like to tell anyone who's skeptical to "Just Try IT" it will be worth it. The motivation for me is getting on the scale every morning seeing the number is less then what it was the day before.

by Andrea, on August 12 2009 @ 6:23 am
Hi. Just to answer some questions for some of the posts I have been reading. If you stall you need to do an apple day where you only eat up to 6 organic apples in one day. You are also supposed to keep your water intake low but the apples should keep you hydrated. I am doing this alone myself and I ordered my injections from Body Solutions RX. I am on day 12 of the VLCD and have lost 14 pounds.
by Andrea, on August 12 2009 @ 6:24 am
Oh Im sorry it's only day 9. I must be ready to get off of this thing.
by karen, on September 2 2009 @ 5:58 pm
I have heard so much about this recently, but what are the side effects? What about women of child-bearing age…any risk there? Isn't a 500 calorie a day diet dangerous?
by LVLP, on September 16 2009 @ 7:52 am
I have been on the protocol for over a month now. Have you gone to the Forum page – lots of helpful info. The 500 calories a day is not dangerous as long as you receiving HCG while on the restricted diet.
by Brenda, on October 6 2009 @ 5:09 pm
I am on day 14, I did not have that much weight to loose, but have only lost 4 lbs, the past week I have lost only 1/2 lb and I'm wondering what to do? Should i just eat apples for a day as suggested? I feel really frustrated.
Thanks

I am on day three I gorged day one and two and today I start 500 calories. Today I weighed in and gained 2 pounds from gorge day 1 & 2 so I hope today is a good day for me. I have my meat weighed at home and my apples and some celery but I need to go get some cucumber and tomatoes because I think tomato with salt and pepper would satisfy my taste buds for sure.

I used hcg previously and lost about 20lbs. I was starving the whole time. Am going to do again in conjunction with phentermine. This is supposed to help a lot with hunger. The key to success is continuing to exercise and portion control after complete

A reputable pharmacy is http://www.pharmacyescrow.com You will buy the HCG AND the mixing kit for 23 or 43 days at that same site. It took less than 2 weeks to receive. Buy the one marked HuCoG when given a choice. It can be daunting to go through a pharmaceutical site without a degree, but stick with it. At checkout, it will ask for pharmacy prescription, just answer the questions and it will by pass through that. I think you pay a dollar or maybe 4 dollars for one of their recommended pharmacists to approve, base on your weight or something. YouTube had a couple of good mixing videos, choose one with 5 stars. I am on day 4. Feel empty and want to eat, just cause I want to eat! But that is why I am overweight, right? Not starving. Lost the initial gorge weight plus one pound. After reading what happens when you cheat, I am not planning on it. But this is right up my alley, just give me the plan, tell me what to do for the duration, and I'll do it. Too many variables and I get discouraged at trying to make the right choice. I'll check back with progress.
by Kris Cannon, on January 10 2010 @ 11:41 am
PS Be sure you are eating only ONE vegetable at any given meal. Onion is listed as a vegetable, so no tomato AND onion AND garlic. Onion is not considered a spice. At least that is how I am reading the diet on Inches and Pounds.
by Kris Cannon, on January 10 2010 @ 11:45 am
PSS, I notice a discrepancy in the food on this site and the original manuscript. Oranges are not in the original manuscript, just a thought…

I started the HCG Diet on the 14th of January – I'm on day 10 (Day 8 of the VLCD). I am 5'7 and started the diet at 159.2 lbs after the 2 day binge. I am currently down to 150!!! 9.2 lbs lost!!! This diet is hard but if you stick to it, the scale shows you the results. My goal is 135-140. I'm excited to see what happens in the next 20 days. Good luck to all!
by Ali, on January 23 2010 @ 5:42 pm
I have been on the diet for 7 days. I gained 2 pounds on my gorge days and have lost 10 since. My main concern is the next phase after the 30 days of injections and also the time after that. I am concerned about the results if I eat "normal", not crazy, when we are done. I hear so often about doubling the gain after a diet etc. Anyone have any thoughts or heard anything? I don't want to avoid food afterwards, just eat portion controlled and enjoy life! Thoughts! Thanks and Congrats!

I have done the diet a few times,,loosing about 25 lbs..then during the weeks off ( 6 or more ) i gain some back..my first time i gained almost everything back.. did not understand the 3 days without injection but still eating 500 cal..at the end of the diet.. so i am thinking it was why it did not work as good..then did it again worked good,, untill I went vivit my son, and he did not have a scale and i gained 9 lbs back could not tell what food made me gained it back..then gain a few lbs back during Christmas,,now i stated the diet again..hopefully i can be more organised this time and figure out what food makes me gain back..i was 203 lb when I started the first time,,now i am 174 lb and trying to get down another 20 lbs I hope..i have a hard time to loose..never lost a lb a day.. usually it is .4 to .6 per day .. lucky you guys that can loose 1 to 2 lbs a day.. it still better then other diet where you loose maybe a lb a week..anybody have suggestion to keep the weight off permanently??

I am on day 29 and have lost 28 pounds. I have some days when I have lost up to 3 pounds and some when I have gained 2. I am glad with my overall weight loss but those days that I gain are very hard to handle!
by Forreal50, on April 8 2010 @ 8:12 am
I have been on the diet for 7 days. I did gorge the first 2 then have stuck to the 500cal. I have lost 6 pounds with gaining 1 on the gorge days. I go to the gym 3 days a week and do 45 minutes of cardio with weights. Today I had to eat a melba toast before heading off to the gym. I read the article above again and kick myself. I need to focus and stay on this dies exactly how it says. I also just noticed that I am not supposed to eat the same 2 meals in a day. Woops! I like chicken breast and fresh green beans with dried apricots. Oh well. I will change this starting today. Stay with it and tell me your thoughts.
by Marianne G, on April 16 2010 @ 6:54 am
I’m on day 3 today. Did my gorge with a 1/2 lb gain. I did this diet when it first came out 40 years ago and it did work very well. Of course, I went to a Dr. to get injected, and as I recall it was a once a week injection. So this self injection is daunting at times. I do have a few questions though. Some sites allow melba toast or grissini others don’t and mixing more than one vegetable at a time is ok on some not on others, even two or three fruits per day. I would llike your opinions on these three questions as I feel in their own way they will directly impact the reslluts. Thanks!!

12th day, down 9 pounds – my naturopath said I could graze on vegetables all day without limit but lots of tomatoes and 2 large apple/day can bring cals up to over 1000/day. Orig diet cals for just ONE veg each meal, a handful. Any experiences or knowledge about this? Also do drops really work as well as shots?
by dayna, on April 17 2010 @ 10:49 pm
I have been on hcg for 3 weeks and have only lost 10 lbs. I am vegetarian so I do not eat meat at all and the diet forbids other protein sources. This diet is not for people like me… FAT VEGETARIANS!
by GLS, on April 21 2010 @ 10:21 pm
The real key is to prepare both mentally and physically to start. Set your start for maybe a week out and in the interim study the diet foods and rules and prepare mentally. I put it off for 2 months before starting cause I thought it would have the same outcome as all my other dieting projects.
If a “Dr.” tells you to graze all day and have all the veggies you want …… read the rules. If it is different from the rules than don’t listen to that advise. Dr. Simeon has this down to a precise chemical reaction. Don’t try to change it.
Be very prepared and only have the foods listed in Phase 2.

I started HCG drops 4/15/10, I am on day 8. I gained 3 during day 1&2, and have since lost 8 pounds. I am stuck this week with only loosing a half pound and today nothing. I just learned I can't eat the same thing for lunch and dinner so will correct that. Otherwise I am doing everything else the same. I am at 152.6 and want to get to 134. Any suggestions?

I started the HCG Homeopathic drops on April 21, 2010. The first 2 days were my gorge days and started with the VLCD on 4/23/10 and have already lost 7 lbs. My chiropractor sells them and the diet is a bit different from a lot of the things I am reading online, but it is working. I am hoping to lose 30 pounds.

On HCG to lose about 10 lbs. have lost 8 and am getting very hungry and weak. may be I have finished with those fat stores. So as Simeons says, am going on about 800 calories to finish the 21 days of drops. PROBLEM: I am going on a very vigorous 6 hour hike on Sunday. I believe I should load on Saturday with healthy proteins and generally 3 good meals, take adequate food for the hike, then re store and regroup Monday and Tuesday, then resume 500 calories if wt is gained. Really need help here as I am weaker on the diet. please respond.

Hey Dayna,
Don’t know if you check back here or not, my husband and I are overweight vegertarians as well… we have been on the hcg diet for 26 days, my husband has lost 26 lbs and I have lost 17.4. We have been eating non approved protein…boiled eggs-one whole and two whites, or protein drink with 18-26g protein, 0-.5g fat and no sugar (biochem, bluebonnet…blue bonnet even has a vegan version), or morning star farms chicken strips, etc. I look for the lowest fat items and try to keep fat grams below 3.
Seems to be working well for us.
I don’t know if it makes any difference but we don’t eat apples very often, usually 1/2 a grapefruit in the morning, a protein and veggies for lunch and supper. plenty of water and tea…the water seems to be very critical, must have at least 1/2 gal. the days I didn’t drink enough water I did not lose anything! (the liver needs water to dispose of fat properly).
I hope you read this and it gives you encouragement…

Since you are not suppose to use any topical oils, what specific product brands are everyone using for shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, soaps, toothpaste, and makeup?
by Luanne, on May 30 2010 @ 1:07 pm
MY question is the following: No sugar no starch no white flour………I have cheated on this diet with sugar and I know that it stalls the progress that I could have made. Does anyone know why? How can anyone be on this diet and never eat sugar ever again? My doctor told me that once I get to my goal weight then I can have a cheat day once a week. So, on the other 6 days I have to eat only what is allowed on Dr. Simeons Diet. I continued on phase 2 because I lost 8 pounds and did not reach my goal weight. Maybe I would have reached it if I did not cheat. Any thoughts?

I started drops yesterday. day two of gorging and i feel GROSS! i am swollen and sloshy and stuffed feeling. going to continue my body cleansing throught the diet to get the bulk off my upper belly/intestines. i will not have a scale until this afternoon so hopefully no big deal not weighing the first and second mornings. i had a total shock from a depo shot and gained 45lbs following delivery of #7. i am trying to get this out of my system. i am required to be on a prescription medication, does anyone know if this will cause problems with the diet?
by Julia, on June 6 2010 @ 9:55 am
for luanne, i think the idea is not NEVER eat those things again, but rather limit them to occasions instead of a regular part of your diet. our diets are very abnormal compared to what we were designed to eat. my family eats from whole foods and we avoid pepackaged food. on the weekends, we might have a little ice cream, once in a while. also, once you have eliminated these foods from your diet for a significant amount of time, like on the diet, you will not desire them any longer. your body will find junk food too harsh and they will not taste good to you.

Round 1, I lost 20lbs and 21 inches. I kept the weight off with no problem at all for over 6 weeks, and now I'm just starting round 2 and hoping to lose 7 more lbs to reach my final goal. Today is day 1 of vlcd. Every night on this diet is like Christmas Eve for me, going to bed early to hurry and wake up to see what the scale has for me! This is my miracle diet. I LOVE IT!
by Miranda, on June 14 2010 @ 8:30 pm
I am on day 5 of the HGC Protocol, and I have lost 11.4 lbs. It was surreal to look at the scale this morning! What a miracle. I have still been experiencing some hunger pains. I'm a little nervous that i'm maybe missing something? Please, someone evaluate me: i drink green tea and other herbal teas all morning, then for lunch and dinner, i alternate between beef/cucumbers/strawberries/kavli crisp bread and chicken/celery/apple/melba toast. One day i took my meals to a friends house for the day, but forgot my starches…turns out i lost 5 lbs that day. Is that normal? Also, can I take my supplements during the hcg? I havent been, but was wondering. Thx for whoever answers my questions.
by Kim, on June 15 2010 @ 2:19 pm
For Miranda – your eating and drinking plan sounds great. The starches are not required on the diet. I would try skipping them again to see if your weight loss is greater on days you don't have starch. Weight will fly off for the first week or two, then slow down. Most women's overall averages are .75 pounds per day. Men lose more. Make sure you drink water throughout the day. You should be drinking your weight in ounces.
I was on hcg for 30 days. I've lost 20 pounds. I probably would have lost more if I hadn't cheated over the weekend. I need to rev up my willpower for the next round. Today is my first day without the hcg. Two more days of 500 calories, then I can start adding some things in. Then on to round 2.
The clinic where I go has a support meeting every week and I've learned that there are a lot of things that can hinder your weight loss. The most important thing is not to use ANY oils. Most of the products out there have oils in them. I had to get new makeup, baby shampoo (mineral oil is ok), deoderant, etc. Try to use mineral makeup. There are organic products made from coconut oil that are ok (that oil doesn't have an affect on the hcg). Make sure your vitamins don't have added sugar or oils in them. Also, around ovulation or menstration, women may not lose any weight or may lose slower than normal. that's ok, the weight will come off. Try to find a liver support supplement w/out any additives.
I was very skeptical about this diet and researched it throughly. It's not for the weak. You have to be determined and dedicated and committed to following the protocol exactly. I cheated and gained a pound back, but who knows how that affected the weight loss afterwards. I could have lost more if I hadn't cheated.
Hang in there. This is a short program compared to others. Picture yourself as thin as you want to be and keep that image in your mind when you crave something or want to give up. I LOVE that my clothes are baggy, that I don't have a double chin anymore and that I can see my waist! That is better than anything could taste!
by Miranda, on June 16 2010 @ 12:01 pm
Kim – thank you so much for your reply. It helped a lot! I have already swtiched all my toiletries to organic/natural and my makeup to mineral (and i only wear it on sundays). The only thing left to check is if my vitamins have oil or sugar in them, then i can decide whether or not i want to take them while on hcg. I have a lot of weight to lose, so I have yet to experience looser clothing, but with 15.4 lbs lost as of this morning – Day 7 – I am pleased and excited! Not to mention, I no longer feel bloated or have heartburn! Those are mini miracles in themselves! Thanks again!

Hi, im interested in trying this program, but I happen to take thyroid medicine any one else out there like me?
by NC, on June 21 2010 @ 6:09 am
Hi there…day two of gorging. Holy Cow I feel disgusting. I am a consistently healthy eater with about 15 lbs of weight that refuses to go away despite healthy eating habits and regular exercise. Hopefully this will be the change I need. Anybody else have experience loosing a small amount of weight? Pros, Cons?
by Kellie, on June 26 2010 @ 5:22 am
I have been on this program for 9 days, and in the first few days lost famously! The first day I lost 3 pounds, and by day 6 had lost 9.5 pounds….however, then my weight loss came to a standstill, literally, where for 4 days my weight was exactly the same. So I took a deep scan of what I'm doing…I THOUGHT I was supposed to be taking 5 oz of meat at each meal, and had bought LOTS of meat and divvied it up into 5 oz portions and put it all into the freezer…turns out, 100 g is actually 3.57 oz!!! Silly me…and, nowhere in MY program from my doctor, did they say HOW MUCH vegetables to eat, so I was eating to satisfaction. Here, it specifies 'a handful' of each vegetable. Thanks for that information! I'll go on the "apple day" tomorrow, a non-injection day, to get my system going again, then get on the program the way it's supposed to be done, and back to true weight loss! This is a great program, and I'm looking forward to great progress this summer! ~K~
by Dee, on June 28 2010 @ 6:56 am
I have been on the program for 26 days w/ a wieght loss of 24 pounds, went to a cook out and loss control.Since I have retained the 500vlcd/(very low calorie diet)and Im not sure how this will affect my results. The gain was 2lbs. I'm still taking my drops, I have 14 days to complete round 1 and 6 weeks to wait until round two. Any thoughts from some veterans of HCG:)

Hi I am trying this for the third time. I had to much hunger and quit. I took better pictures of myself this time and followed to a “T” no cheating not even a crumb. I know now that that’s is key follow exactly and drink enough water. it works. I’m on day 11 I’m not hungry and I have to force my self to eat the food. I started at 172 Lbs and this morning I weigh 159 lets hope this keeps up. I have had craving when my family eats in front of me and when I cook lasagna, other meals for them and I don’t cheat it tells me something is really working.
Good Luck to all of you keep strong you are worth it!
by Christy, on July 10 2010 @ 10:46 am
@ krystal I am on Thyroid for Hypothroidism. My HCG Dr. has increased my dose to two grains or 120 units of Armor.
I did my increase a week before starting the HCG so as to not make too many big changes all at once. My Dr believes it's very important to have a properly regulated Thyroid before starting HCG as to maximize the weight loss potential.
As of today R1P2D10 I have lost just over 11 pounds and doing great. No side effects or hunger, just a longing for food but I know I don't NEED it because I'm not hungry!
This is AMAZING and I'm SO happy I decieded to give it a try!!!!! <3
I use 20 units of HCG in an insulin syringe every morning.

Hi , does anyone experience pain in lower back? Possibly kidneys. I am on day 3 and all of sudden that horrible pain !
by adriana, on July 19 2010 @ 3:01 pm
hello.
im on my 15 day on hcg treatment om so sad becouse i just ate a lot today =( what should i do ?
by Evie, on July 24 2010 @ 12:32 pm
I am on day 34, and I have lost 25lbs. Currently I am at a solid rate of 1/2 per day. One day I had a cheat day, and I gained a couple of pounds, but as soon as i resumed the program the next day, I lost the lbs that i gained from the cheat day. I really like it. It is the first thing to really work and give me any kind of hope in a long time. One good tip for plateus: I was stalling out at one weight and to get it moving again, i drank water and green tea all day, and snacked on low sodium all natural beef jerkey. For some reason that kicked the progress right back into high gear….just sharing…
by Evie, on July 24 2010 @ 12:34 pm
Oh, sorry, I was trying to say i am losing 1/2 pound per day right now. every day i am down a half of a pound…better than gaining, which is what i was doing before hcg.
by susan j, on July 25 2010 @ 11:57 am
Yes Marina I too have low back pain and was wondering the same thing. Also very tired and weak. I am on day 12. following the diet to a T. Anyone else and what may be causing the problems?
by susan j, on July 29 2010 @ 2:23 pm
Marina just figured out what helps my lower back pain. Lots of water the recomened amount of 1/2 to 1 gal a day. Cant do the 1 gal but did increase to about 1/2 gal. The increase in water intake also lessened my fatigue. Go figure something that simple.I also realizrd it flushes out the uric acid caused by the high protein intake. And flushes out the liver and kidneys.
by susan j, on July 30 2010 @ 4:40 am
This is my first go round. Doing okey. My question is how long do I have to wait before I can go on the 500 cal diet again? I am on day 17. So how soon can I start the 500 cal diet with the hcg again????? Do I have to go on the 3rd phase first and wait 3 weeks??? I've been reading all the info from Dr.Seimons and Kevin Trudeau and I am confused. How many calories are you supposed to eat on phase 3 and can you mix your vegies ?
by lyndsay, on July 31 2010 @ 5:54 am
So its been almost 20 days on the Hcg diet and Ive lost 10pounds already. I have cheated for the last two days…drinking eating sugar and carbs at night and have stayed at the same weight. I know im prob just having a diet stall but i dont mind staying at this weight. Craving a bagel…just dont want to gain
by S.K, on August 6 2010 @ 6:30 am
my niece is in the hospital recovering from a blood clot. she's in her late twenties and has been on the hcg diet for a few months. doctors say it could be from the shots!
by DK, on August 13 2010 @ 11:34 am
I started the diet in Feb 2010 and lost 25 pounds within the 40 day period. I have managed to maintain the weight this entire time. It is important for me to closely monitor sugar and starch as it causes me to add a pound or two overnight of water weight. When that happens, I follow with a steak day and the weight evaporates. This has been an awesome program. I reduced 4 sizes. All of my friends and co-workers are amazed and inspired. It's really miraculous. Good luck to everyone.
by rachel, on August 14 2010 @ 1:36 pm
my fiance both have done this diet. this is my second time around. the first time i lost 25, and my fiance lost 30! i feel amazing but i still would like to be down to my pre-baby weight. so i have about 16 more i want to lose. i really think you HAVE to do the gorging, and im not really sure why people dont. i dont ever really feel that hungry, just bored with not being able to be creative with my food. this is really unlike any other diet. but i guess its worth it, im just not feeling as motivated this time. i have really intense cravings, but i have never cheated and dont think i ever will. ive heard too many horror stories. but some days, i dont lose weight and im following it perfectly and i dont understand. if i accidentally ate 10 more calories than i was supposed to, how does that make me not lose weight or gain a pound?! im eating 500 freakin calories!!! anyone else have this problem?
by DK, on August 16 2010 @ 3:31 am
At times when I have plateaued, my doc suggests I have an apple day, which is a day where you eat only five apples spaced evenly through the day. It actually isn't as bad as it sounds. I take blood sugar support pills to help with the cravings. I also find that I have less cravings, by far, when I eat cold-water fish vs chicken or beef.
by Cindy, on August 28 2010 @ 12:57 pm
I am on Day 6, Ph 2, and am down – 7.2 LBS! However, I have stomach cramps after eating. Anyone else have this problem or know anything about it?
by miranda, on September 3 2010 @ 9:09 am
I am seldom on this site, but I thought I would leave a comment anyways. Last time I was on here, it was Round 1, phase 2, day 5 and I had lost 11.4 lbs so far….well today is Round 2 phase 2 day 14, and my total loss to date is 45.4 lbs! Whahooooooooooo! I feel fabulous! So in case you're wondering, this DOES work. See keep going after your goals! YOU CAN DO IT!
by JG, on September 4 2010 @ 2:48 pm
I didn't realize I was supposed to begin the drops during Phase 1, the 2 pig-out days, so I didn't begin taking them until the last dose of the second day. Does anyone know if and/or how that will affect the overall success of the diet?

i am on day 9 of the hcg diet. The first two days of fat loading i gained 3lb 2oz, to date i have lost 7 lbs 2oz. However, I gave in and cheated today and was wondering what to do? Should i just see what I gain and if I gain more than two lb. start the apple day or just continue with the protocol and hope for the best? Any advice would be appreciated

I am a nutrition consultant- personal trainer and professional dancer. I am on day 14 and have lost 11 PBS. I have to exercise due to my job and lifestyle but have not experienced any difficulties with pain or fatigue (except one day when I had not eaten anything yet at 3) I have recomended this to clients and friends after much thorough research. Good luck
by kat, on November 7 2010 @ 10:26 am
I was really excited to start day 1 and then a friend had dropped off a manual from "hcgcompletediet.com telling me to use the "hcg detox" drops and eat all organic for the first 10 days before staring with the "hcg weight loss" drops (with the amino acids)and the 500 cal. diet. Along with the "hcg weight off" drops.
There are 3 different drops? I'm so confused???
And also I am currently taking synthroid for hypothyroidism, should I stop taking it?

Hi – I did phase two about a year ago and lost 20 lbs, then did phase 3 and lost another 38. In the last month or so, I've been messing up, so have decided to do phase two again to lose the 5 lbs I've gained and lose another 10-20 to get me to my ideal weight. So here is my question – I used the injectable hcg and will do that again, but can i supplement it with the liquid "Weight-Off" weight lose excellerator? Will that get me an even better weight loss? Thanks!
by lula, on November 14 2010 @ 10:15 am
wanting to start the diet, i have 90lbs. to lose but am having trouble finding a site that offers hcg injections that are by the weight loss cure book protocol. any suggestions?
by admin, on November 15 2010 @ 9:14 am
Min – you don't have to get any other supplement when engaging in the HCG diet, as long as you follow the protocol exactly and don't cheat. Good luck!

I'm on day 9 and have lost 4.4kgs (approx 8.8 pounds). I am finding the lack of variety with foods the hardest part, but i'm not starving hungry at all which is great. All I can say is keep going and hang in there. It would be a shame for people to lose weight and then gain it back anyway by breaking the rules.
by Angela, on December 11 2010 @ 1:41 pm
I am so glad I found this program! I just finished my round and lost 22 pounds. Today is the first day of no drops, so two more days at 500 calories, and then on to maintenance. Did any of you count calories on maintenance, and how many calories could you have? Did you up the calories right away, or ease into it? I'm nervous about gaining, although I know we are supposed to be able to eat regularly, as long as there are no sugars or starches. Any thoughts?
by Alex, on December 12 2010 @ 2:45 pm
I gorged myself the first two days. I mean I ate out to eat about 6 times each day, plus candy…soda…beef jerky…all the junk I could. I thought I was going to throw up I ate so damn much. 1st day on the 500 calorie diet I lost 4 lbs, 2nd and third day the same… by the end of my first week, I lost 17 lbs… I just finished the second week and I have lost a total of 21 lbs. The second week I plateaued but I weighed this weight for a few years…so it will be harder to get passed. There will be lots of apple days this next week. I do the drops and I love it, I highly recommend it.

Hi all….. I am going to start the HCG diet on Jan 2nd. Couple of questions.
I have 20 pounds to lose….if I lose them in the first 2 weeks, do I still continue to take the required 23 day supply of HCG and stay at 500 calories?
Also, I am on a bio-identical progesterone……will this interfere?
by sindy, on December 30 2010 @ 5:45 am
Amanda,
I guess if 20 pounds is all you need to loose, you still have to finish the 23 day round. Cause hcg diet works as a system, you might not get the benefit just use part of it.
by Jazmen, on December 31 2010 @ 5:22 pm
Do I measure the vegetables raw or cooked??? and can I eat 2 different beefs in 1 day???
by weedonna, on January 1 2011 @ 9:33 am
I am on day six of 500 cals. Have been a bit confused about phase 2 food list as some sites have more fruits allowed than others. Still searching. I have managed to loose 11.4 pounds with one of those days only being .2 pounds because my husband rubbed a lotion on one of my foot the night before! When they say no oils they mean it! oops but hey trying to be gentle with myself but determined not to waste my time, money, or effort by knowingly cheating! I have 200 pounds to loose and can not afford to waste anymore of my life. I am using hcg drops that claim to not be homopathic, need to be refrigerated, and when I placed drops in pregnancy test showed up pregnant. Was scamed by one site before buying the real deal.
by Amber, on January 11 2011 @ 6:56 pm

I am in phase 2 and was wondering if i can eat alaskin salmon or is it only the fish that is listed? and if not, why?
by Michelle, on February 4 2011 @ 4:16 pm
I need help! I am on day 6 of phase 2 and have been doing awesome up until this evening. This crazy weather has kept my captive in my house with 3 kids for the 5th day in a row and I just finally caved! The stress and the fact that I cannot leave my home to do ANYTHING is just bringing me down & obviously I eat when I stress or become overwhelmed. I'm so upset about this, I ate carbs and sugars and need to know what to do next. I know I'll see a weight gain but is there anything I can do to get my body back into ketosis faster? So far I have lost 7.5 pounds and I have about 20 more to go. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know!
by KarenHas, on February 6 2011 @ 12:14 pm
Hi!!! Began my second attempt at this 8 days ago. First attempt lasted 15 days lost 17 pounds then went to Vegas and ate normally so gained it all back and then some!!! So fast forward a year and a half: I know now how important the 23 (or 40) day protocol is as well as the Phase 3 re-feeding, But MOST important of all the GORGING for the first 2 days of injections. Tried very hard to gorge on all things fattening but on day 8 have lost 8.4 pounds and still experiencing uncomfortable hunger pangs. UGH!!
Any thoughts???

What do I do if I reach my goal in 12 days. Can I still maintain if I go to P3 at that time?

lisa,
It takes at least 20 days to reset your hypothalamus. So you wouldn't want to do that.

I'm on Day 31 of VLCD, and I have lost 20 pounds. It's been working fairly well, I sometimes have hunger pangs, but I haven't cheated at all because of the stories I've heard of people gaining so much weight. I'm wondering when I should move onto Phase 3 and I am expecting my period in a few days, should I end Phase 2 before my period begins or should I wait until after my period ends? Thoughts, comments?

I've been on this diet for two weeks, last night I went off and had two bowls of cereal, not even worth it. So far I'm down about 15 lbs but I woke up this a.m. and gained a little (about lb to be exact). Will I be able to lose it by tomorrow if I stick to protocal and drink my water for the rest of today??
by New2Hcg, on April 12 2011 @ 7:10 pm
I am on day 6 of the VLCD phase 2, and have lost (by my scale) about 8 pounds. I am pleasantly suprised to find myself NOT hungry, although I was hungry and cranky on day 1 od phase 2. And amazingly, I have also found myself NOT craving food like I thought I would. I actually can look at cake, and frosting, and coca cola- and NOT be smacking my lips! LOL And I am normally a sugaraholic.
However, I am using the drops, and it just occured to me that I am not refrigerating them. I don't remember anything in the literature saying I had to, but was just wondering if it was necessary?
by imee, on April 14 2011 @ 7:55 pm
Hi – this is my first time on the diet. Started on 4/4/11- gained 1.5 lbs from days 1 and 2.
I am on day 10 and have lost 6 lbs. I stalled on days 8 and 9, but kept with it. At this point I did the apple diet and dropped .5lbs the next day.
As I am reading the comments, I saw two areas where I was making a mistake.
1) I was eating 4oz of allowed meats rather than 3.5 oz
2) There were days when I was eating the exact same thing for lunch as I was for dinner.
I will be correcting those minor errors – so hoping the weight will start to come off faster!
Can anyone tell me why you cannot have the exact same meal for lunch & dinner?
by RainCity, on April 15 2011 @ 11:25 am
I'm not totally sure why you can't eat the same thing for lunch and dinner, but I think this diet, although very strict, also is about balance. It ensures you don't get all your calories through the few things you might love, like strawberries or tomatoes. Likewise, you can't gorge on tons of celery even though eating it non-stop might make you feel fuller. By making you keep the foods mixed up, your body is getting a balance of vitamins and fiber from a variety of sources. For me, it's brought me back to the fundamentals of preparing a balanced meal.
If you're still stalling or losing weight very slowly, re-evaluate any "no calorie" drinks you might be drinking. I bought stuff like Sobe Light and Vitamin Water, but when looking at the tiny print, it had sucralose or crystalline fructose in it. I ended up giving them away. I'm using a little Stevia for sweetener in my tea and coffee.

I felt like I was starving the entire time too and thought I would do a Candida yeast cleanse, but the hunger finally stopped at day 30. My co-worker felt little to no hunger the entire time and we ordered our hCG from the same place, so I guess it's just different for each person.

I don't think you should be off your meds, just start 'adding' the diet into your routine. but mine is just a personal opinion. check with your medical practitioner first I'd say.

I am on day 4 of the diet I have lost 4 pounds. I did my 2 gorge days but for some reason on those days I found it extremely hard to eat and I felt no hunger (however I did force myself to eat) now on day 4 I am feeling a little light headed as the time passes in between meals is this normal is this going to go away please tell me yes
by Jim, on May 5 2011 @ 5:27 am
The apple day is for when you stall and have no loss for 4 or more days. Actually, you just need to follow the protocol and the weight will go. Be patient and read Pounds and Inches.

I love the program, Iv’e lost a total of 26lbs in the 21 days. Now I’m starting phase 2, it just gets better in time so stick with it you will get results…..

I did a first round losing 40 pounds and are currently 2/3 of the way through my second round and have actually been losing slightly faster this time than last time. All together I have lost over 70 pounds between the two rounds. It has worked exceedingly well. I also took Vitamin shots during this round and it seems to have helped.
by lisa, on May 24 2011 @ 11:40 pm
I substitute cottage cheese for meat some meals and I read you can eat 1 whole egg and 3 egg whites. Look around because these foods vary with different sites. You have to figure out what works for you and it works for me.lisa gossett

I realize this post is over a year old,but wanted to comment.(Marianne)I too went on this diet when it first came out and had 1 shot a week.I lost fast and steady.Had no hunger problems, lost 30lbs in 30 days and kept it off for 4 years. Now I do the injections and am having a terrible time .up and down-2wks /6.5 lbs and struggling to keep that up.I'm about ready to throw in the towel.BRING BACK THE ONCE A WEEK-yeh

im in day 9 and just loose 4 pound what can i do ?
by Momof2, on June 18 2011 @ 9:55 pm
Yes Heidi, you will gain some weight on the "loading days" and you will feel hungry for the 2-3 days after that. Also expect to feel flushed the first week. Then you will not be hungry at all and it will even be a struggle to eat all the food because you simply will not be hungry. Make sure that you do eat all of the protein, veggies, and fruit that you need. If you don't or if you don't drink enough you will stall or not lose weight. So if you find yourself stalling do the following: 1) Make sure you are drinking enough 2) Be sure you are eating enough 3) Look for hidden sugars in your meat or spices you are using. Chick-fil-A adds sugar to marinade their chicken – be sure to stay away from that even if you get a grilled chicken salad! I learned that the HARD way. Good luck to you! I am on day 13 of my 4th round. It does work. Just stick with it the first week and DON'T CHEAT!!!! It is not worth it- it will set you back 3 days because the first day your weight goes up (1), the next day you try to lose the weight you gained (2), and the third day will be spent losing the weight you should have lost in the first place.
by Momof2, on June 18 2011 @ 9:56 pm
If you do gain don't beat yourself up over it if you didn't cheat. Just try to determine why. Sometimes it is because you haven't used the bathroom in a couple days which is totally normal. Hang in there it is totally worth it when you see the pounds coming off day by day. I wouldn't say you lose a pound a day overall. I can give you examples by telling you how much I lost each of my first 3 rounds. I did 40 day rounds. Round 1 – 27.2 pounds, Round 2 – 25.8 pounds, Round 3 – 27.2 pounds. I did gain back weight in between because I totally gave in and didn't keep myself in check every day – I also had some emotional things happen where I gave into my old eating habits. I would have been done with round 3 but I let myself go over a period of about 6 months. Now I am trying to lose the final 20 pounds to be where I need to be. You can do it. Believe in yourself and remember that you will be SO much healthier when you are done.
by EMARCHANY, on June 27 2011 @ 8:50 am
HI, i am starting today the 2 loading days. But i am worried about the 500 calories days. Can you tell me how hard it is and also how much did you lost at the end of the treatment?
by Yolanda, on July 8 2011 @ 10:36 am
I was told by a nurse that work at a clinic that does the injections, that when you get at a plateau to eat only 6 large apples with cinnamin for the whole day. It works and you are not hungry. The largest apples you can find.
by Yolanda, on July 8 2011 @ 10:38 am
Use the short diabetic needles.
by lisa, on July 13 2011 @ 11:24 am
i started last tuesday, lost 8 pounds, and today gained 1 pound, i have not cheated, the only thing i was wondering is that i eat sugarless gum, and i have been eating sugarless licorettes, i need to nosh on something, maybe this is why. also the 2 days i had an apple instead of an orange, i didnt lose, maybe because the apple was large and not mini, i lost 6 pounds in 3 days and the 5 the rest of the week, but still i am please with losing 8 pouns in 1 week!
by sharon, on July 20 2011 @ 6:20 pm
for all of you people with questions regarding diet ; do yourselves a huge favor and read the Simoens protocol , it's free onloine. The man was an absolute genius!!! Kevin Trudeau also is very knowledgeable and his book the weightloss cure they dont want you to know about is very helpful. DO NOT TRY TO REINVENT THE WHEEL!!! i have done this many times on both injections and drops and on injections the first time(maybe due to huge expense) i did manage to stay on for alittle over 2 weeks and lost almost 20..but no
self-discipline and eventually caved.. drops are jsut as good.. disregard periods u should be alright and most meds will be alright also. I am getting desperate almost 43 yrs old
and promised myself i wouldnt go another year like this.. Wish me luck or better yet pray for me!!! My name is sharon.. iwas actually looking to see if anybody tried the VLCD with only one gorge day as e enough im low on drops and time and I have adequate fat supply. I realize blook level may not be as high but im going for it.. let me know if u have been successful after only one gorge day!!!!!!!!!p.s. i know i sd dont try to reinvent but i truly
understand the physiology and believe that it can be done….maybe
by Kristin, on July 27 2011 @ 5:34 pm
Hi Sharon,
Here's my experience with the loading days….I find it very difficult to eat large amounts of fatty foods, partially because it's just not the way I eat and partially because I no longer have a gall bladder and it makes me feel sick. As a result, my loading days have always been fairly light and and it does make the first week a bit more difficult in terms of hunger, but the weight loss doesn't seem to be affected that much. I did my first round of injections in September of 2009 and have done a total of three 40-day rounds. I lost 30 pounds the first time, 25 pounds the second time and 30 the last time. I've also done two 20-day rounds and in total (not including the weight I gained back and had to re-lose,) I've taken off 80 pounds. I'm getting ready to start another round and am hoping to finally get down to my target weight of 125 – 130lbs. This diet works but it takes commitment – and not only during the low cal. portion of the diet. Here's what I've learned:
– The 20-day protocol is pretty much useless if you have more than just a few pounds to lose, especially if you have a specific metabolic problem such as mine, i.e., Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. Both of the times I did the 20 day protocol I lost weight but didn't keep it off…seems that 20 days just isn't enough to reset the hypthalamus and get the metabolism back on track.
– There's a little bit of wiggle room during the VLCD but only with approved foods. I have successfully made salads with more than one veggie (small amounts of cukes, celery, tomatoes, onion, etc.) and had no trouble losing the weight. However, NO oils, starches or sugars…they are most definitely self-sabotaging foods and will result in weight gain or stalls, at least for me. I also am able to eat broccoli and cauliflower, which are not on Simeon's diet, but also realize that at the time that he was experimenting, many of the veggies we take for granted today, were not readily available to the general public and may not have been considered for inclusion in this protocol.
– Apples are my friends….they satisfy hunger, sweet cravings, the desire for something crunchy and they help keep you regular. Don't avoid your apples!
– DO avoid going places that stimulate your old eating habits. If that means staying out of your favorite grocery store or restaurant for two months, do it. This diet is not easy and if you aren't going to stick with the commitment to work it, don't bother starting in the first place…there are other ways to lose weight. I found that the first time I did a 40-day round, I learned a great deal about my eating habits and the various ways I used food to fill other needs. When I paid attention to what I was doing and recognized the dozens of times my hand wanted to pick something up to eat, and then looked at what it was I was feeling at the moment, it was enlightening. I highly recommend using this protocol as an opportunity to learn something important about yourself.
– Probably the one most important thing I've discovered about the diet is that Phase 3 is the key….if you mess up during the three weeks after you stop your injections, your body simply doesn't have a chance to stabilize into a new pattern of metabolizing food. There are so many options for increased food choices that do NOT include sugar or starches, that it's really pretty easy to find satisfying ways of eating without them. One of the things that I've noticed about myself is that I don't miss sugar or starches if I go for long enough without them, but once I taste them, I start craving them. This is my Achilles heel….if I mess up on Phase 3, I start putting the weight back on. What I've come to realize is that keeping the weight off 'forever' is not a function of the HCG, but of an changed relationship to food and a change in the kinds – and quantities of food that I eat. For me, sugar and refined starches are simply not an option if I want to stay thin. It's a choice – the HCG can help take the weight off in a healthy way that really does give miraculous results if followed correctly, but it is NOT a magic bullet that allows you to take it off and then start eating all the wrong things again when you're done with the diet. Like anything else, you have to exercise good judgement and knowledge of your own body's needs in order to stay healthy. When I was younger I was a very fit, athletic woman – all of that changed after I gave birth to my son and I've struggled with weight ever since 1983. What I know for sure is that I feel about 1000% better when I'm thinner and all of my serious health issues are more or less resolved after doing the HCG protocol…the rest is up to me!!
Good luck and stick with it….you'll be very glad you did! (And I wouldn't worry too much about only loading for one day….)

I have been on hcg injections with clinic. No apples why can u have them & what will they do?
I also eat 800 cal. I've lost 112 lbs. In three weeks had to fly was without shot for 1 of those 3 weeks. Back on with 1week to go have to fly again. When do I stop taking shot? What does the 1 lime per day do?

Ladies, please advise! While it is recommended to begin HCG immediately after your menses OR 10 days before, I am now on day 7 and… SURPRISE! Should I continue taking the drops while maintaining the 500 calories? Or just maintain the 500 calories without the drops until menstruation is completed?

Help I have questions that need to be answered by actual people that have been on this treatment.
My husband and I will be starting this on Monday the 14th of August!
Can you take the drops while bieng on your period?
After the 42 days of treatment, how long is it before you can start the treatment again (Im looking to lose 60 lbs), so I think the 42 days is not enough?
by Stephanie, on August 19 2011 @ 11:46 pm
I am on my 6th day today and was told at my doctors apt that I had lost NO weight. I feel like I have stuck to the meal plans, but just realized from reading stories that your not to use any lotions or anything with oil. ex. lip glosses, chapstick, lotions ext. has anyone else had the same thing happen to them, and what can I do to catch up? Or do I start over?

Hi momof2, thank for all your adviced. I am on day 6 (counting the 2 loading days) and I am doing ok I guess, I just would like to ask you a few questions if you don't mind;)
1- considering I am doing a 500 calorie, do you think I can eat an egg as a protein once in a while? . How about cholula hot sauce, could I used it as I please? Ex. one pouched egg, spinach on top and a teaspoon of cholula hot sauce?. How about tazo passion UNSWEETENED tea, it's the red one from starbucks that is a regular tea but taste fruity, do you know if i could drink it? and last question… YOU ARE ON YOUR 4th ROUND!!!! WOW!!! CONGRATS!!! I want to ask you how much weight have you lost already?, how many pounds did you loose the 1st round?…congrats again and thanks for your help
by ygo, on August 22 2011 @ 7:59 am
Hi Trista I have a question for you, even with your period, you did not weight more? after your period, did you loose more weight?. Also, after having a major chocolate attack, did you have to do a steak day or anything specific to get back on track?..I am on my 6 day first round, I have my period right now and only lost 5 pounds. thanks for your help
by ygo, on August 22 2011 @ 8:02 am

I am on day 10 of the diet and I also experienced hunger pains. I have lost 13 lbs. What really helped me was to make myself a large lemonade (using juice from a lemon, stevia and of course water). I found it really filled my belly and made me feel better. No sure exactly why it helped me feel better…..

Well, I have started HCG. I have completed my two "binge" days and am now on day 3 (phase 2)…. I've gained 2pounds. I'm 171 with a goal set for 145. I'm feeling a tad hungry but not overwhelmed by it…. Taking it one day at a time…… Will give an update tomorrow

I am considering going on this diet–I thought the instructions were you may have more than one vegetable at a time? Also question: I take thyroid med for low thyroid and it is a natural one but by prescription–can I continue to take that? Also I take pain med (prescription–for serious back pain and compounded disease in spine…does that disqualify me–or would I have to live without meds if I could cope for the duration of the diet?

Well, It's day 13 on Phase 2 and I must say this has been the most challenging and discouraging week thus far. The first week I dropped 10 pounds without question. This week I didn't deviate from the protocol at all and for 3 days I plateaued. I didn't was to do an "apple day" because that's pure psychological so I toughed it out and on the 4th day I lost 2.5 pounds. the day after another .5 pounds which put me at a weight 157lbs. But this morning I got on the scale, having maintained the diet, and gained 3pounds which put me back to 160lbs. My goal is 145. I'm committed but need some advice on what may be happening. Please HELP!!!
by MissG, on September 11 2011 @ 6:05 am
Well I have I officially broken through my plateau and have been loosing weight steadily. It's day 16 on Phase 2 and I am 154.8. I am down 16pounds with a goal weight of 145lbs. I am definitely excited that I am only 9lbs away…. Sticking with guarantees the weight loss…..

I gained three pounds in two days of gorging but took it off the first day of 500 calories.
by Lynette, on September 15 2011 @ 7:15 am
Terry….are your HCG drops prescription or over-the-counter homeopathic? OTC homeopathic does NOT have HCG (the real hormone) in it. I don't fully understand it, but I was told that it mimics the true hormone to produce results. BTW…..both females and males produce small amounts of HCG naturally. HCG is Human Chorionic Gonadatropin. The last word begins with GONAD (which is a term for the male testes)…..and happens to be where HCG is produced in the male body.

no it is so good for you it gets rid of your worst fat, resets your thyroid, adrenals, hormones and is used as a fertility drug because of its benefits. Can be used on children as well. I lost 20 pounds in 21 days and feel great….
by kim, on September 15 2011 @ 2:30 pm
i lost 20 pounds in 26 days and I went 4 days with no loss and one day gain but I lost 10 pounds the first week and than over the next 2 weeks lost another 10 but just like you kind of all over the place and never cheated once. I'm on week 2 of phase 3 and I gained 2.5 pounds did the steak day and lost 5 pounds so when you get there that does work. Just hang in there if you stick with it most people who follow it who are over weight lose about 15 to 20 pounds in 26 days. Its a lot but weighing yourself everyday can make you nuts. If we did it once a week we would not be frustrated but we have to. Just stick to it and you will start losing again. Change it up a little I had cod, chicken and 93% fat free burger. The meat worked well seemed to lose more on those days.
by Lmacd, on September 16 2011 @ 6:20 am
I have been on this with the pellets from the health food store, I am on day 49 and have lost over 50 pounds. I have more energy and cut the grass the other day. I felt great it was so much easier than 52 pounds ago!
Mind over matter smaller meals and stopping the grazing sort of eating that " didn't count"!
by Gail, on September 16 2011 @ 8:49 pm
I started taking the homeopathic hcg but I have been reading they do not contain hcg. I am so confused all the websites claim to be the best does anyone know which drops contain hcg? I read you can test them with a pregnancy test ?

Just finished my 6 weeks on thr hcg diet. Now I am told that for the next phase of resetting my metabolism, I cannot lose more than two lbs. or gain more than three. I don't want to just stay where I am for the next 3 weeks, I want to continue to lose. So, will I be totally messing up the whole diet if I try to lose more during this time?
by Toni, on September 19 2011 @ 9:33 pm
Start using your fruits, or melba toast, or breadstick, as snacks in between meals. My step mom WAS a diabetic before this diet, and she would also eat one of her fruits as a breakfast, as she would get terribly weak and shaky in the mornings, after her diabetes pill kicked in especially. She has recently been able to come off the diabetic pill, but is still eating one of her fruits for breakfast, and uses melba toast, and her other fruits as snacks~

Hi Jen,
here is what i found out:
There are three methods. The injections, the hcg drops, and the hcg homeopathic drops.
The injections and the hcg drops require the 6 week break.
The homeopathic drops do not, and you do not develop immunity.

This is my second round. I never heard the part about only one veggie for a meal. I put tomatoes & chopped celery on my salad. I just make sure not to go over the total amount combined. Am I doing it wrong?

I'm on day 3, doing the sublingual drops. I've been in a low gi regime for the past 1 1/2 years, and was looking forward to the force feeding days, and I really didn't enjoy them as much as I thought I would. Eating certain foods I haven't touched for a long time was nice, but I felt awful after, not to mention the weight gain…. 5 lbs! I was actually looking forward to going back to eating healthy! Wish me luck guys

Hi,
I'm curious to know if you reached your goal, and how has the transition phase been for you. Please share.
I am on day 4 (taking sublingual drops) It is so easy to gain weight and so hard to lose it…
On the binge days I putted on 5.8 lbs! could you believe it? I've been on a low glycemic regime for over a year (lost only 30 lbs) and thought it would take me at least a week to lose those dreadful 5.8 lbs, but guess what? I lost them ALL the first 500cal day! I made sure I biked for a couple of hours (there is a lovely trail in the woods close by) and drank a lot of water. I was so hungry last night I just drank a big cup of herbal tea and went to bed super early…. but it was worth it!
I'm excited to finally be able to lose all the weight I've been fighting for the past 6 years, and thank you for being an inspiration! I'll remember you and other great people posting here before I cheat or get disencouraged!

Hi I once started this diet in feb.2011 with the advise of a co worker I started at 204lbs and after loading for 2 days I gained 5 lbs my first 500 call day I lost 4lbs I was ready! The next day I list 3 then 2 then one everyday until I lost 33lbs I failed when I didn't do the 3 days with out hcg or the maintanance so slowly I gained the weight back every now and them I would take drops to take off extra weight gain but still wanted to eat like I did before well I got tired of the drops and the process and started my old eating habits now I'm back to 194lbs and about to start again and do it the right way because I have back aches sore knees and touted again and can't fit all the size 9 pants I bought I have learned my lesson and I'm going to do it right this time I felt better when I was smaller and I want that feeling again and not gain the weight back dont do like I did cuz it's a waste of time and money to not stick to the new way of eating

On 4th day of Phase 2. I was 136 When I stared gorging. Went up to 140. After one day on 500 calories went down to 135.6. I just finished my period last week so I thought I was safe but started back up again yesterday. Today I am 134. So I have basically lost 2 lbs since the beginning. Is this normal if you get your period? Im on the prescription liquid. I will keep everyone updated with my progress.

its like any diet plan, even weight loss sergery. if you go back to your eating hibits your body is going to gain weight, that is how you got there in the first place. I am just starting the HCG for the 2nd time. first round i lost 25 pounds, i am on day 7 and have lost 10 more pounds as of now. I didnt gain anyweight in between phases even though i would have pizza every now and again. but over all i was eating healtheir to maintain my new weight. the less you weight the less calories your body demands. if you continue to eat the same amount of calories as a 200 pound person, they your body will end up being 200 pounds.

people read the posts, but you cant expect everyone that reads them to want to respond to people or have the best advice. most people are coming on here for advice themselves.

it does sound dangerous, everything i have learned in my life tells me that 500 cal is concidered anorexic. But i have done 1 round of this diet and I didnt have any side effects and lost nearly 30 pounds. Now i am on my second round. Obesity has many many horible health risks, so losing the weight is my top priority. I was never even hungry after the first week. I trust the doctor who developed it because it worked for me and many other people i know without any bad sie effects. I think if you did a 500 cal diet without the drops it would be dangerous.

yes it is normal. usually once you are off your period you will lose some of the water retention. besides that i lost 2 pounds my first day without being on period. It varies for everyone. some ppl average 1 pound a day while others are 2. keep up with it!

Hello everyone, I just started the diet last Tuesday,Jan 3rd gorged for the first 2-dys and began the 500 cals. It seemed like it was going to be easy for awhile. Haven’t weighed since I started. I was so hungry today I ate things I wasn’t supposed to eat. I feel like a failure but desperately want to loose weight.I was wondering if I should quit and start over or continue and try to get back on track?

you don't have to go off of prescribed medication and no one should, that is very dangerous.

Hi there, my Husband and I are using the drops as well and NO, you do not refrigerate them. Just keep them at room temperature and out of direct sunlight. Good Luck!

Hi Ann. I myself experienced the same thing on day 7 and day 8 of the diet and I follow it very strictly, to perfection. On Day 7, I didn't lose anything and on Day 8, I lost only .02. I am assuming (due to what I have read about this diet) that it is because I am ovulating. Apparently women will stall when ovulating and/or menstruating. Perhaps this may be the culprit for you as well. Hoping that tomorrow brings more weight loss for me and for us all…. we will see. If not, I will have to resort to the one of the diet's plateau breaking methods and hope for the best. Good Luck to you all.
