HCG diet is a powerful, yet very strict diet. The calories that you are allowed to consume on the HCG diet protocol is no more than 500 calories a day. And the diet has very strict dietary restrictions especially during Phase 2. If you cheat during VLCD phase, it will normally set you back 2 to 3 days and cause stall or even weight gain.

The first week of Phase 2 may be the most difficult time for some dieters. Although lower food intakes already satisfying your body needs since the HCG is mobilizing abnormal fat stores as your source of energy, you may still feel hungry or deprived emotionally and crave for foods that are not allowed on the HCG diet. If you are not exactly eating the right HCG diet food, consuming more than 500 calories per day, or cheating on oily foods or unhealthy snacks, you allow your body to store unwanted body fat instead of burning it.

But don’t worry, cheating is not the end of world on the HCG diet. It happens sometimes as our minds overpowers our body. It is most important to pick yourself up and not give yourself such a hard time. Get back on track right after the cheating happened and do not indulge yourself in the thought that you already cheated. Cheating should not necessarily mean failing on the overall diet and it needs to be ensured that the cheating will only happen once.

The best thing you can do after cheating on the HCG diet is to stay with the diet protocol for the rest and make sure that you will not cheat again especially during the Phase 3 (Maintenance) after you finish the HCG shots or drops. Maintenance is a very critical time during the HCG protocol because it somehow makes or breaks as far as keeping your weight off. You don’t want this to be just another failed diet where the weight comes back as soon as you put something fattening in your mouth. Make sure you do maintenance right and don’t cheat.

HCG Diet is like the rules and regulations that you are supposed to follow. Just make sure you are doing the right thing and put effort to see the best result. Once you successfully made it, have lost and reshaped your body to your personal satisfaction, you will understand every step on the HCG diet is a step towards a healthier and happier life.

Hi, Im on phase 2 and i lose 4 pounds for my first 3 days but then I jumped back to my original weight and this is my 5th day.. will the plateau breaker will do? It is stated on Dr. Simeons program that plateau is a common dietary stage

when a user stop losing weight. And I also read that if your intake of calories was 700 instead of 500 Even though it is such a small amount it forces your body to shift to start pulling your energy from your calories again.

I have tried just about everything to loose weight. I found out about the HCG and this is my 3rd day on it.

Do i have to eat exactly what the dr said no sugars and no starches while taking the hcg? can i eat anything ells but keep it in the 500 calories a day?

I just started the diet this is my third day. I have followed it exactly and have already lost 10 pounds, unbelievable to me.

I would follow the diet exactly, no sugar (use Stevia, it is excellant and permitted), and no starches.

You can do this, You can't lose weight eating the wrong foods. You will be able to eat those things again, soon enough. If you still have hunger , you are not doing it right.

    Hang in there.

This is my third day and I already cheated do I start over now

Same thing here. I am on day 6 and I lost 9 lbs as of yesterday but today I am back up and have only lost five total now. According to the steak day plateau option you are supposed to wait at least 4 to six days with no results before doing that.

My question is, is the MAIN focus MAINTAINING the weight?? for instance if i DO drink and eat but as long as I stay within my 2 pounds IS IT OK??? And if I do go over just do a steak day??? or is it a MUSt that I have no carbs or sugars???
If done a round of HCG before… and I will try not to indulge too much and make sure I weigh EVERY day!! if I see a gain of more than 2 pounds i will do a steak day IMMEDIATELY!! I have an event the day arrive, the day after I arrive, the following weekend AND the weekend after that!!

Is it ok if I consume carbs and sugers AS LONG as I do not gain past the 2 pound mark?? Obviously Ill be strict on myself in the week and weekends… Well… Yeah!

I read somewhere else this is ok…as long as I maintain… Im not sure though… getting mixed messages

Today is my third day as well and I have already cheated. I just ate more chicken then 2 ounces but I feel bad. I am worried that I screwed up big time! I found that at the beginning of day three I was very disciplined and on track but by the end of the day I was starving! What do I do?

This is my 7th day on the in phase 2 of the hcg diet plan. I lost 10.5lbs as of yesterday. Then this morning when I weighed I had gained a full pound back. I haven't cheated on this diet at all. But yesterday I did work out on an elliptical. So now I'm wondering if exercising is causing my weight gain. Did you exercise during these 5 days? I may be wrong but it seems kind of early to have hit a plateau.

I am currently on Phase 2 of theHCG and on Day 6 and I've lost 9 pounds on the diet. You can only eat the foods that the doctor prescribed. If you need more info on this here is a link to the book by Dr. Simeons "Pounds and Inches." . it is very important that you read it and understand what you are getting yourself into. As was said before one crucial mistake could make you gain the weight rather than lose the weight.

    Good luck!

Hi I have cheated like there is no tomorrow, three days in a row. I think I consumed at least 1,000 caleries each day. Do I just start the next day as usual or what?

  12. by nene, on April 14 2012 @ 11:09 pm

no sugar and carbs for 3 weeks post hcg. You can have fats, like olive oil and maybe peanut butter to increase your food choices.

  13. by nene, on April 14 2012 @ 11:12 pm

I had a protocol that allowed 1 whole egg with 3 eggs whites. Tuna packed in water. As tuna in water wasn't introduced in Dr Simeons time. I also had red peppers and lost.

I pretty much eat taco salad every day. shredded lettuce is unlimited and filling. I get 6 oz of beef because of my size.and I have salsa with no added sugar as my vegatable. Have to use less because its concentrated tomatoes. I have apples sprinkled with cinnamon or an orange. I am so not hungry, sometimes I just eat once a day. Seeking hypnosis to establish better habits after I am finished, since its a costly investment and I want to stay thin.

I have been on this diet now for 28 days I cheated yesterday, I feel so very guilty, it almost makes me want to just eat again today. What a bad mentality for me!! UHG. The HCG Diet is a miracle for me I just love it. Will Cheating set me way back? I just dont wantt to get discouraged

hi there, ive been on this diet for 3 weeks now. Ive lost 16 kilos now and I have cheated heaps!!!!!!! I got sick of apples and oranges, I hate grapefruit and none of the berries allowed are in season so after dinner the other night I had a few grapes. over the course of the diet I have had a chocolate bar, 2 honey mustard tendercrisp combos from burger king, a boil up, (which is very fatty if you dont know what it is), a few potato chips…and the list goes on, and every day i still lose. At the end of the day, it depends on your own body. I lost about 8 kilos in the first week and then stalled for about 2 days so I thought if I try another loading type day I would lose weight like the first week and I was right. Maybe not for everyone, but it worked for me.

I am trying this for the first time. I am taking 30 units, but I am not seeing any change in my weight, I am on day 9. Any help with this. \

  21. by Bonnie, on November 15 2012 @ 9:50 am

I actually went on this exact HCG diet and lost 22 lbs, but I did not do the maintenance and gained all the weight back plus another 5 lbs. So, I advise all to do the maintenance! Also, I read an article in Shape Magazine by Dr. Oz endorsing HCG diets as an effective way to lose weight. The only difference is Dr Oz advocates no less than 750 calories a day. This is probably why some people are able to still lose weight while cheating. I don’t think I could do this diet again, it was pretty grueling for me. But it did educate me on the toxic foods we consume without even realizing it. I am going to try a more natural approach to lose weight this time around.
Good luck to all who are trying this HCG.
