Hi all I was about to start, but I have been reading some articles and posting here and there. I am wondering if anyone experience any side effects? Is there anything to worry about?

I haven't had noticeable side effects but the mild headache that goes away
after about a week.... that's all I've experienced in the past months. It's a great program and if you start ......

In the 3rd week, I broke out in big red itchy bumps. My doctor said it was toxins that had been stored in the fat coming to the surface. It lasted a week or more, but hasn't happened again. ;)

Sometimes when the body is getting rid of toxins it eliminates them through the skin. If you follow the protocol very seriously, and suddenly have eliminated a lot of stuff from your diet, the body often reacts to changes in diet, even when the changes are good.

Headaches are not uncommon withdrawal symptoms from caffeine. If you were drinking a lot of caffeinated soda, this is very likely a symptom of caffeine withdrawal.

Hope this helps :)

HCG has NO known side effects. However, there are a few things that some individuals have had problems with, including Low blood sugar, Menstrual changes, Constipation or Dry skin.

I have been off the diet for almost a month, after losing 30 lbs. What i have noticed is that my breasts are tender like I am going to start my period, or like I am pregnant. I am also losing quite a bit of hair when I comb it out after showering.
Anyone else had either of these side effects?

I heard someone lost some hair on the diet, but they regrew back shortly after the diet ends. I don't have hair loss problem, but I did notice breast tenderness about the time I would have my period while on the diet. I think HCG just made us more sensitive to that time of the month.

I am on day 13, and have lost 13.2 lbs! My problem is that it is my TOM, and Im really struggling. I haven't actually started yet, but I feel terrible, and am just dying to eat... any suggestions on how to get through this time? I don't won't to have to start from scratch a week from now when this is over!

i am always starving when my cycle starts/is about to start, too. i kept using the HCG thru my cycle and it helped with the hunger. and i also drank a lot of herbal tea and stayed away from the kitchen :). good luck!

I followed a HCG diet plan. I lose 25 lbs in 40 days. I have not noticed any side effects. I usually took plenty of water every day.

I am on day 3 and have the worst head ache. Tylenol did not help. I think it must be caffeine or sugar withdrawl but it is a bad one. I am going sublingual and my husband is doing shots. He has already lost 14lbs in 5 days. Men loose so fast. I have lost 4 but yesterday was hard. I was wanting more food. I don't think hungry but not satified.

I'm glad you posted this! A couple of weeks ago, halfway through my third round, I started noticing breast soreness (the kind I used to get prior to getting my period, but had been long resolved with taking bio-identical progesterone cream, and oral Iodoral.) They are still so sore!! I don't drink anything caffeinated, and I'm still on the progesterone and Iodoral, and it finally occurred to me a few days ago that it must be the hCG!

I hope it stops soon for both of us, but I'm glad to know somebody else had the same experience.

Few side effects of HCG diets are:confusion, shortness of breath and even less urinating. These may be the signs of OHSS or Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome. Also you may have stomach pain or swelling of your legs.

I noticed today that my nails are splitting and then the top layer is just peeling off. I also have the headaches but another member told me their doctor said it is caused from releasing toxins in the body and will go away soon. I am very constipated so i am wondering how i can be down 12.2lbs in 4 days and have only had 1 BM?

hair loss is result of the hcg speeding up your hair cycle of growth like it does in pregnancy.. dont worry it will settle down once totally out of system and hair resumes normal cycle of growth

I have noticed that my hair has stopped falling like it usually does, I usually have a huge ball of hair every morning from washing my hair but lately it has been tiny. So maybe its having the reverse effect on me lol

It is your body detoxing and it will go away soon and your skin will clear up and start to look amazing. It is totally normal and happens to some people, I know its not pleasant but it will go away soon!

These are the less serious side effects of chorionic gonadotropin (hcg) which includes: Headache, feeling restless or irritable, mild swelling or water weight gain, depression, breast tenderness or swelling or pain, swelling, or irritation where the injection is given.
This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects.
